Lumo Conservancy
Lumo Conservancy is located between Tsavo West National Park and the Taita Hills. It is as small as 195-square-kilometer and managed by the community. Since it is not an official national park, unique game drives are possible here – even at night!
The conservancy exists since 2001. It is an important corridor for wildlife migrating between Tsavo East and Tsavo West and Mkomazi National Park in Tanzania. The name LUMO is an acronym for the communities of Lualenyi, Mramba, and Oza. These communities gave land to establish the conservancy.
