Sipi Falls is a breathtaking hiking destination in Uganda. Nestled in the stunning Mount Elgon region, it offers a magical experience for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts who love a good hike!
The Sipi Falls in eastern Uganda consist of three captivating waterfalls of more than 70 meters high, with the main waterfall and its thundering cascade plunging down a 100-meter cliff being the most impressive one.
The hike to the Sipi Falls spans 7 to 8 kilometres and takes about 4 hours, guiding you through lush greenery, coffee plantations, and picturesque landscapes that offer panoramic views. If you are lucky, you can spot chameleons along the way. Keep your eyes wide open, because you need a good eye to find these elusive creatures in their protective colours! At the end of the hike, you can reward yourself by having a swim in one of the streams or by taking a refreshing shower under one of the waterfalls. A better refreshment is hardly imaginable. Don’t forget your swimsuit and towel!
