Uganda mostly produces black and green tea, and with this tour of a tea plantation, you immerse yourself in the intricate process of tea production. You explore the sprawling tea gardens, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who tells you about the history, cultivation, and harvesting methods of tea production while you enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding landscape. Witness the tea pluckers in action, then strap on a basket, and find out for yourself how tea leaves are supposed to be plucked. Of course, this 2 to 3-hour tour ends with a nice round of tea tasting!
Tours either start at 9 am or 4 pm. The morning tours are most popular because the air is still crisp at that hour. But if you join the afternoon tour, you get the extra benefit of witnessing an amazing sunset over the amazingly green fields full of tea leaves!
