The Sands at Chale Island

The Sands at Chale Island is an amazing hotel on a private island just south of Diani Beach. An ancient mangrove forest covers two-thirds of Chale Island, home to the highest mangrove trees of East Africa. This is the so-called sacred forest or kaya. Inland there is also a mystical mangrove lake influenced by the daily tides. The resort covers fifteen acres of this forest and has a beautiful cove of 10,000 square meters. The beach here has white powdery sand, a blue ocean and living coral reefs that protect the cove. Seeing how far this beach is from everything, this is the only truly private beach of Kenya.
