Solio Lodge

The Solio Lodge is the sole accommodation within the 182 square kilometers of Solio Game Reserve. This extravagant lodge between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains has five cottages surrounded by lush vegetation and rich wildlife. Here, a cozy atmosphere awaits you under the high thatched roofs of spacious cottages. Each cottage boasts double or twin beds and an ensuite bathroom with rain shower and a free-standing bathtub. On top of that, there are an open fireplace and huge east-facing sliding widows opening up to a private deck. Families will love the family cottage featuring a double ensuite room and a twin ensuite room, interconnected by a shared lounge.

After a day full of adventure in Solio Game Reserve, you can sit by the crackling fire place, or get a relaxing massage followed by a candlelit bubble bath. The lodge serves local and international dishes which are prepared by the chefs with seasonal veggies from the onsite ‘shamba’ (Swahili for kitchen garden). Enjoy your meals in the communal lounge and dining area, or dine al fresco on the communal deck. For more privacy you can dine on your own balcony while enjoying the picturesque view over the plains. To top it off, Solio Lodge supports local communities through their foundation Our Footprint. They provide education to local children and healthcare to nearby communities.
